Our goal
At Salt + Moxie, we envision a salon experience that goes beyond great hair. Our space and culture are designed to honor authentic beauty, deliver an elevated service experience, and create a community where every guest feels celebrated. Our goal is to inspire confidence, connection, and effortless beauty—so you leave not only looking amazing, but feeling truly seen, supported, and a little extra you.
Where Beauty Meets Legacy
A beautiful woman with a salt and moxie spirit essentially gave me the gift of my profession. An unrealized dream met the opportunity to go to beauty school after a chat with my grandma, Betty. She gave me the key to unlocking my lifelong career as a hairstylist.
A lady of the 1950s, she never missed her weekly wash and sets. It brought her community, connection, and beauty. On the outside reflecting her perfectly soft silver curls, sincere blue eyes, Revlon red lips, and delicate pearls on her ears.
Betty gave her heart to everyone she knew, making them feel loved, welcome, and valued. A couple of decades later, I had the privilege of giving back to her. The beautiful gift she gave me came full circle as she sat in MY chair every week for four years. I saw her reflection change, but her beauty remained the same.
Salt + Moxie Co. was then birthed out of a dream meeting an opportunity. Being in the industry for 20+ years, I’m thankful to love what I do. After relocating to the central coast of California, I started working with Michele Crafton at Mod Studio. I immediately felt a part of the community and settled into growing my business and developing relationships with clients. Clients who have now become lifelong friends.
For over 10 years, Michele and I worked alongside each other at Mod Studio and then the Showroom Salon in downtown Paso Robles. We’ve shared hairstyles, color formulas, countless backroom chats, survived COVID shutdowns, and supported each other in life’s ups and downs. Now we get to share in the beautiful transaction between friends and women entrepreneurs, transferring salon ownership.
Michele beautifully created these spaces to work, handing me the keys to take our salon into the next season. It is a privilege for me to serve our stylists and community as salon owner since 2023.
Sweet Betty didn’t get to see the final transition take place, but she was a part of the journey. For all those who had the privilege of knowing her, recognize that she is the foundation of who we are at Salt + Moxie Co.
